I run a conservation company in London and work on large-scale public statuary and architectural features. My team and I have been fortunate enough to work on some of the most magnificent public monuments and sculptures in the UK including Nelson’s Column, Eros, Cleopatras Needle and The Albert Memorial, but practical work is not all I do.

I am also a writer and it is the world of sculpture that feeds my imagination. I have four novels published where sculpture is always at the heart of the story, and various non-fiction works relating to conservation.

Monumental contemporary sculpture with David Breuer-Weil

David Breuer-Weil is a painter and sculptor. His works have been installed in major public spaces in London, including Hampstead Heath, Hanover Square, Grosvenor Gardens, and Marble Arch, among many others. And his work can’t help but stop you in your tracks. It’s not of this world, it’s fragmented parts of things. It’s out of another dimension. I began our conversation about monumental contemporary sculpture today by asking when sculpture first came into his life.

And although the majority of her work is for private owners, she’s created some very well known and loved monuments, including Icarus for London 2012 Olympic Village, Sir Peter Scott sculpture for the London Wildfowl and Wetlands Center in Barnes, and the Hammersmith Man for the Hammersmith Flyover, among others.
